Harry Kane recently celebrated a major off-field milestone as he was honoured with his own wax statue at Madame Tussauds London. The England skipper described the unveiling as a “proud moment” for him and his family as he prepares to lead the Three Lions into the upcoming World Cup.
A mirror image of the England captain
The Bayern Munich striker has now joined the ranks of sporting legends featured at Madame Tussauds London. Kane admitted it felt “strange” to see his lifelike figure in person for the first time. Currently based in Miami, the England captain collaborated closely with the attraction’s artists to ensure every element—from the national team kit to his preferred boots—was precisely replicated.
Reflecting on the experience, Kane said, “It was truly an honour to receive the call from Madame Tussauds. It’s something you never really expect. London has always been special to me; I’ve lived here almost my entire life, so having my first wax figure here feels like everything has come full circle.”
Attention to detail and family pride
The wax statue portrays Kane in a signature stance, one foot resting on a football. What impressed the England striker most were the finer details, such as the tape on his wedding finger, which he famously kisses after scoring. “Seeing the finished figure was an incredible moment—the eyes look so real, and they even remembered the tape on my wedding finger that I kiss when I score. It’s like looking in a mirror!” he said.
The unveiling turned into a family celebration, with Kane’s wife, Kate, and their four children attending the ceremony. “My wife Kate and our four kids came along for the unveiling, and it was a proud moment for all of us,” Kane added.
Inspirational roots in London
Kane’s waxwork will have a permanent place in his home city of London, a tribute to his local roots. In a touching gesture, youngsters from Ridgeway Rovers—Kane’s first club in Walthamstow—were invited for an exclusive preview of the statue. The striker hopes that the display will inspire the next generation of budding footballers.
Sharing his hopes for the figure’s impact, Kane said, “I can’t wait for young fans to take pictures with my wax figure in London. I hope it motivates children to keep believing in themselves, work hard, and enjoy every step of their journey.”
Joining the gallery of global sporting icons
Kane’s waxwork will be showcased in the Culture Capital zone at Madame Tussauds, alongside legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Mary Earps, Sir Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Joshua, and Kylian Mbappe. Steve Blackburn, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, highlighted the significance of including the England captain before the World Cup. “Harry Kane is one of the most influential figures in global sport, both on and off the field, so it was only right that his first-ever wax figure be unveiled in London from Friday, June 5, ahead of the FIFA World Cup,” Blackburn said.
He added, “Our studio team thoroughly enjoyed working with Harry. They share his commitment to detail and craftsmanship, and his reaction to the finished piece was wonderful to witness.”
