New Delhi: 21 people died in a massive fire in a hotel in the Malviya Nagar area of the capital Delhi on Wednesday morning. According to preliminary information, the fire broke out around 9 in the morning. Meanwhile, an important revelation has come to light regarding the accident. It is being told that the hotel had got a license from the Delhi Government under the ‘Bed and Breakfast’ scheme, under which only six rooms were allowed to be built. But reportedly 25 rooms were being operated in the hotel. Not only this, some rooms were also made in the basement. In such a situation, serious questions have been raised regarding the adherence to safety standards and violation of rules in the hotel.

People burnt in the fire have been admitted to Max Hospital, AIIMS Trauma Center and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital. According to doctors, the condition of many injured remains critical. After the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that this is a very sad and heartbreaking incident.
Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, the Chief Minister has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He said that as soon as the information was received, all the concerned agencies were immediately activated and relief work was started. Along with this, the government has also expressed confidence of providing all possible assistance to the affected families.
