New Delhi: For the last few days, many speculations were being made regarding the ongoing talks between America and Iran regarding the nuclear program. It was claimed in some media reports that the talks between the two countries have come to a complete standstill and now there is no possibility of any agreement. However, US President Donald Trump has rejected these claims outright. Donald Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social and said that the news of the end of talks between America and Iran is completely wrong.

He said that in recent times there has been constant contact between the two sides and discussions are going on at various levels. Trump said in his message that talks had taken place four days ago, contact was established three days ago and even after that the dialogue continued between the representatives of the two countries. He clarified that this topic has been discussed even today. This statement by Trump clearly indicates that diplomatic efforts are still going on behind the scenes.

Message given to Iran for agreement

In his statement, Trump also adopted a tough stance regarding Iran. He said that this issue has been pending for a long time and now there is a need to bring it to a conclusion. According to him, both sides will have to move forward in some direction so that the situation of uncertainty can end.

Trump said that it is difficult to say what the final outcome of the talks will be, but America does not want this matter to remain in limbo for long. He also indicated that Washington is ready for an agreement, but for this Iran will also have to take positive steps.

The statement came amidst regional tension

This statement of Trump has come at a time when the situation in the Middle East is already tense. Recently, after the increased military tension between Israel and Lebanon, Iran had adopted a tough stance regarding the negotiation process. Due to increasing military activities and political rhetoric in the region, it was feared that diplomatic dialogue between America and Iran could end completely. But Trump’s latest statement has reduced these apprehensions to a great extent.

As part of efforts to maintain peace in the region, Trump also talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives of Hezbollah on Monday. It was told that during this he appealed to both the sides to reduce the conflict and stop the firing. According to reports, Trump requested Netanyahu to avoid a large-scale attack on Beirut. After this the Israeli Army decided to limit some military activities. Expressing satisfaction over this initiative, Trump also thanked Netanyahu on social media.

The question of regional stability goes beyond the nuclear issue

Experts believe that the ongoing talks between America and Iran are not limited to the nuclear program only. It is also to regional security, maritime trade, economic sanctions and stability of West Asia. According to political analysts, Trump’s statement could be part of a strategy in which on one hand pressure is maintained on Iran and on the other hand the path of dialogue is also kept open. If there is a positive agreement between the two countries in the coming time, it may impact the entire Middle East region.
