The rumours surrounding Persib Bandung’s transfer activities for the upcoming season continue to circulate widely.

One of the latest reports suggests that a former Real Madrid star has reportedly agreed to join one of the Super League clubs for the 2026/2027 season.

The player in question is Jese Rodriguez.

The news has been making the rounds online, including through a football-focused social media account, @allabouutgaruda, on Sunday, 31 May 2026, which often discusses Indonesian football and transfer speculation.

The account shared a clue regarding the club that has allegedly reached a deal with the Spanish forward.

According to the post, the club in question has a blue-themed identity.

“He once played for Real Madrid.

He also played for JDT (Johor Darul Takzim).

And he is now 33 years old.

He is Jese Rodriguez.

Reportedly, one of the Super League clubs has reached an agreement to sign him.

The rumour says it’s the Blue club…”

What do you think?” the account posted.

In the Super League, there are currently four clubs with blue as their main colour — Persib Bandung, Arema FC, PSIM Yogyakarta, and newly promoted Adhyaksa FC.

Among them, Persib Bandung appears to be the most likely destination for Jese Rodriguez.

This is largely because Persib have been known for their bold moves in the transfer market over the past few seasons.

During the 2025/2026 season, Persib Bandung brought in several star players such as Federico Barba, Thom Haye, Eliano Reijnders, and former Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa.

The club is also recognised for its strong financial backing and is set to compete in both the ASEAN Club Championship and the AFC Champions League in the 2026/2027 season.

Therefore, Persib Bandung are expected to seek high-quality players to strengthen their squad and achieve strong results in the upcoming campaign.

However, it is still unclear whether Persib Bandung, Arema FC, PSIM Yogyakarta, or Adhyaksa FC will ultimately secure Jese Rodriguez’s signature.

So far, none of the four clubs have made any official statement regarding the rumour linking them with the Spanish forward.

A Brief Profile of Jese Rodriguez

Regardless of the speculation, the potential arrival of Jese Rodriguez would undoubtedly draw significant attention from both local and international media outlets.

His status as a high-profile player would make him an instant attraction in Indonesian football.

Jese Rodriguez is a product of the Real Madrid youth academy.

He represented Real Madrid’s senior team during the 2011/2012 season, and again between 2013/2014 and 2015/2016.

During his time with the Spanish giants, he competed in top European tournaments such as La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League (UCL), and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Across those two stints, Jese made 94 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions, tallying 3,089 minutes on the pitch.

Throughout those matches, he scored 18 goals and contributed 15 assists, while also receiving four yellow cards.

Jese Rodriguez won several major honours with Real Madrid, including the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Copa del Rey, and La Liga titles.

In addition to Real Madrid, Jese has also played for other well-known clubs such as Real Betis, Paris Saint-Germain, and Stoke City.

During the 2025/2026 season, he played for Spanish second-tier side UD Las Palmas, appearing in 33 matches and logging 1,848 minutes of game time, while scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in the 2025/2026 La Liga 2 campaign.

His contract with UD Las Palmas is set to expire on 30 June 2026.
