TRIBUNBULUKUMBA.COM, RILAU ALE - The excitement for the upcoming FIFA World Cup is just days away.

The official opening of the World Cup is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026.

In Bulukumba, several local figures have already shared their favourite teams for the tournament.

One of the latest to do so is the Head of Rilau Ale Sub-District, Bulukumba Regency, Andi Amaluddin.

He has chosen Spain as his favourite team, stating that he has long admired the squad.

According to him, one of Spain’s main characteristics is their unique style of play compared to other teams.

The former Chairman of KNPI Bulukumba expressed strong confidence that Spain can win the championship.

"With Luis as the tactician, I’m confident that even without half of the Real Madrid players, Luis’s skill will enable a strong collaboration between Pedri, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal — Barcelona’s key players for this World Cup," he said on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Spain’s national team is placed in Group H, alongside Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, and Cape Verde. La Furia Roja enters the tournament as the reigning Euro 2024 champions.

The 2026 World Cup, featuring 48 teams, will kick off on June 11. The event will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
