Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has become politically active regarding Western UP. Recently, while addressing a meeting in Bijnor, he talked about the issues which are currently affecting the politics of the state. In this rally, CM talked about Surya Chauhan murder case in Khoda of Ghaziabad district, Namaz and cow. Meanwhile, while mentioning the incident to Surya Chauhan and his killer Asad, CM Yogi said that stabbing under the guise of friendship will not be tolerated.
CM did not stop here, he said that the worthless children will have to learn a lesson. He said that if there is weed-pollution in front then we will have to take up arms. During this, he sharply targeted the Maulvis and Maulanas who gave statements demanding declaring cow as the national animal. CM Yogi said that cow is not just an animal but a mother for the Hindu society and the relationship between mother and son does not need any government announcement.
Which issues is the Chief Minister raising?
The Chief Minister said that some Maulanas are continuously demanding to declare cow as the national animal. He said that such people should understand that cow is not an animal for us. Cow is our mother. He also said that the relationship between mother and son is never declared. This relationship is linked to faith, values and devotion.
He also talked about Ganga, Pakistan and Maulana. Overall, the language of CM Yogi Adityanath remained aggressive during this period. In such a situation, discussion has started that why is CM Yogi leaving aside the issue of unemployment and inflation in Western UP and talking like this? Let us know why Yogi Adityanath is giving such aggressive statements in Western UP…
UP assembly elections in 2027
Actually, UP assembly elections are going to be held next year in 2027. Now only a few months are left for the elections. In such a situation, along with making strategies behind closed doors, big leaders are setting their agenda by going among the public so that people can be influenced. CM Yogi is also doing the same. He is creating an atmosphere against his opponents by bringing debate on his agenda – cow, Pakistan, Namaz and Maulvi. Western UP is a very important area from electoral point of view.
matter of western UP
There are a total of 136 assembly seats in Western UP. In the last 2022 elections, the BJP alliance won 93 seats, while the Samajwadi Party alliance won only 43 seats. Some districts in this area are Muslim dominated, if SP unites OBC and Dalit castes then it can raise alarm bells for BJP and CM Yogi. In such a situation, Yogi is setting the atmosphere in favor of BJP by bringing debate between Hindus and Muslims in Western UP even before the elections.
Major districts of Western UP
The major districts of Western UP include Saharanpur division, Meerut division, Moradabad division, Bareilly division, Aligarh division and Agra division. Many districts fall in these divisions. Former CM Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party has been raising the slogan of PDA since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. On the basis of this slogan, he has shown his strength in the last Lok Sabha elections. Now, if SP encashes the PDA in 2027, there can be a big upheaval in UP.
There was an alliance of SP-RLD in the last elections. The alliance had performed well in Jat-Muslim dominated districts, especially Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Baghpat belts. This time RLD has come together with BJP, so this time the equations may also go against SP. However, BJP had emerged as the strongest party in Western UP in 2022. BJP maintained its lead on the basis of Jat, non-Yadav OBC and urban votes. Now in 2027 also, CM Yogi wants to dominate SP on the strength of this alliance.
