Poland vs Nigeria Score Prediction, Head-to-Head, and Stats Ahead of International Friendly

The Poland national football team will host Nigeria in an international friendly match tonight.

The kickoff for Poland vs Nigeria is set for 1:45 AM WIB on Thursday (June 4, 2026).

Although neither team will participate in the upcoming FIFA World Cup later this month, both sides will be eager to secure a positive result and build momentum ahead of their return to competitive fixtures in September.

Poland’s hopes of reaching the global stage for the third consecutive time were dashed by Viktor Gyokeres’s late goal for Arsenal in the 88th minute, as Biało-Czerwoni suffered a 3-2 defeat to Sweden in the playoff final in March.

Despite failing to qualify for the World Cup, the Polish Football Association reaffirmed their faith in head coach Jan Urban by awarding the former Osasuna manager a new contract.

The Eagles endured a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ukraine in a friendly at Wrocław Stadium on Sunday, and Urban will be keen to see his team bounce back when they take to the field again this week.

Meanwhile, Nigeria will miss the World Cup for the second consecutive time after losing to DR Congo on penalties in the CAF playoff final last November.

However, their performance levels have improved since then, a trend that was clearly visible during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles stood out among the top teams and ultimately secured the bronze medal.

The trip to Poland on Wednesday marks the Super Eagles’ third match of this international break, following victories over Zimbabwe and Jamaica—results that helped the West African nation claim the Unity Cup for the fourth time in a row.

Head-to-Head and Statistics: Poland vs Nigeria

Wednesday’s match will be only the second meeting between Poland and Nigeria.

The two countries first met in a friendly match back in 2018, where the Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 1-0 win thanks to a second-half penalty converted by Victor Moses.

While that 2018 encounter remains Poland’s most recent meeting against an African side, Nigeria last faced a European opponent in June 2025, when they drew 1-1 with Russia.

In the latest FIFA World Rankings, Poland sit in 35th place, while Nigeria are ranked nine spots higher at 26th.

Poland vs Nigeria Prediction

In terms of form, both teams are evenly matched. The Biało-Czerwoni have lost only two of their last nine games, while Nigeria have suffered just one defeat in their previous eleven matches.

However, the Super Eagles will be without several key players for this fixture, including Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, which could significantly affect their chances away from home.

Predicted Score: Poland 2-1 Nigeria
