Manchester City has emerged as the club contributing the highest number of players to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The English Premier League, the top tier of English football, leads the list of leagues supplying the most players to the 2026 World Cup, with Manchester City as the main contributor.
Following the final squad registrations for the World Cup teams on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, several interesting insights have surfaced from the participating nations.
One notable aspect is the data showing which leagues and clubs are sending their representatives to the world’s biggest football tournament.
According to Transfermarkt, the Premier League tops the list as the leading supplier of players, with 162 participants heading to the tournament.
Official data from Premierleague.com reveals an even higher figure. When including players registered with English clubs during the 2025–2026 season and those already signed for the 2026–2027 season, the total number rises to 183 players.
Out of the 48 teams competing at the World Cup, 40 of them—equivalent to 83 percent—feature at least one player from a Premier League club.
Unsurprisingly, the England national team dominates this list, featuring 22 players from Premier League sides.
Breaking it down by club, Manchester City stands at the top as the club sending the most players to the 2026 World Cup.
In total, 19 players from City’s squad will represent various nations at the tournament to be held across North America.
Behind them are Bayern Munich with 18 players, Arsenal with 16, and UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain with 15.
Barcelona completes the top five with 14 players heading to the tournament.
Interestingly, Indonesia’s domestic league has also made its mark by sending a representative to the World Cup.
Persib Bandung defender Frans Putros, who is part of Iraq’s national team, becomes the only player from the Indonesian Super League to feature in this year’s competition.
The Thai League also contributes one player, Iraq’s Rebin Sulaka from Port FC.
However, both the Indonesian and Thai leagues fall short compared to Malaysia’s Super League.
Malaysia sends three players to the FIFA-organised tournament, representing two different national teams.
The trio includes Gervane Kastaneer of Terengganu FC, who plays for Curaçao, and Selangor FC’s Noor Al Rawabdeh and Mohammad Abualnadi, who both represent Jordan.
