One mosque after another has grown in Japan like a frog’s umbrella. Recently, ordinary citizens of Japan spoke out against it. A mosque built by Pakistanis located in Japan’s Kawagoe City is about to be demolished due to public outrage. Significantly, this illegal mosque was inaugurated by Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan, Abdul Hamid, last April. According to the administration, the mosque was constructed without necessary permission. Pak Embassy of Japan is in trouble in this incident.
The Pakistani embassy in Tokyo is in an unusual situation after it was revealed that the mosque was built illegally. The embassy clarified that they have nothing to do with any project that violates Japanese law. In two cautionary statements, the Pakistani embassy urged members of the Pakistani community to fully comply with Japan’s regulations, particularly regarding the construction of places of worship.
Last April, this illegal mosque was inaugurated by Abdul Hamid, Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan.
According to the municipality of Kawagoe, the building (mosque) is built within the urban development controlled area. Where any construction without permission is strictly prohibited. There was no permission to construct the building in dispute. The administration has received a proposal from the authorities concerned to demolish the mosque. And that proposal is being reviewed. The news that the mosque inaugurated by the ambassador has been built illegally has put Pakistan embassy in trouble. On June 1, X Handle informed the embassy that they have no connection with any illegally constructed project. Besides, an appeal has been made to the Pakistanis in Japan to follow the laws of that country properly.
Pakistan Ambassador Hamid attended the inauguration ceremony of the mosque on April 3 this year. As soon as that topic came up, the embassy informed that he went to the event only after knowing that all necessary approvals were obtained according to Japanese law. Meanwhile, the possibility of the mosque being demolished made the Pakistani embassy uneasy. It should be noted that the citizens of Japan are angry about the construction of one mosque after another. Thousands of people flocked to the coastal city of Fujisawa. Their statement, “We do not want a single mosque in our city.” The video of the huge protest has gone viral on social media. After this, the controversial mosque of Kawagoe city came to the fore.
