Big news: Big action in CBSE, Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary transferred, OSM tender process will be investigated.

CBSE Transferred: Taking a major administrative step in matters to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Central Government has transferred Board Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary Himanshu Gupta. Along with this, a special committee has been constituted to examine the procurement process of On-Screen Marking (OSM) services.

S. Radha Chauhan will lead the investigation committee-
According to the government order, Capacity Building Commission chairperson S. Radha Chauhan has been appointed chairman of the inquiry committee. The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of thoroughly examining the procurement of OSM services, the tender process and all aspects thereto.

Will be able to take help from officers of other departments also-
It has been said in the order issued that during the investigation, if necessary, the chairperson of the committee will be able to take the cooperation of officials of other departments and government offices. At the same time, secretarial assistance to the committee will be provided by the Capacity Building Commission.

Report will have to be given within a month-
The central government has directed the committee to submit its investigation report to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) within a month.

Questions were being raised regarding OSM system-
For some time, many questions were being raised regarding CBSE’s on-screen marking system, evaluation process and OSM tender system. Students and various organizations had also sought to ensure transparency and accountability in the process.

In such a situation, this step of the Central Government is being considered as an important initiative towards impartial investigation of the functioning of CBSE and fixing accountability.
