KUNINGAN – As the 2026 World Cup featuring 48 nations draws near, senior PKB politician from Kuningan and football enthusiast Ujang Kosasih has shared his excitement for the tournament.
“For the 2026 World Cup, my support goes to Spain,” said H. Ujang Kosasih, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Kuningan Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), during an interview on Tuesday (2 June 2026).
Explaining his choice to back the team known as ‘El Matador’, Ujang admitted his admiration for one of Spain’s promising young talents.
That player, he said, is currently part of the FC Barcelona squad.
“My reason for supporting Spain is quite clear—it’s because of Lamine Yamal, who is only 19 years old but already capable of performing on the grand stage of the World Cup,” Ujang stated.
Spain has been drawn into Group H of the 2026 World Cup, where they will compete alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde.
“During the World Cup season, we’re also planning a series of social activities, including community watch parties at the PKB DPC office,” Ujang added.
“We’ll soon discuss the technical arrangements for these viewing events to strengthen social ties. What’s certain is that the weekend watch parties will definitely take place,” he said.
