London Police reported on Monday that six individuals were stabbed on Sunday evening amid celebrations for Arsenal’s Premier League title victory. One man in his twenties was taken to hospital following the incident.
According to authorities, the injured man was initially in critical condition but has since stabilised.
The altercations occurred in the early evening hours, after most of the crowd had already dispersed from the celebration site.
In total, police made 24 arrests for various offences, including assaults on officers and sexual assaults.
Earlier on Sunday, Arsenal’s players and staff had taken part in a victory parade through London on an open-top bus decked out in the club’s colours. Commander Stuart Bell, who oversaw the policing operation, expressed appreciation to the vast majority of Arsenal supporters for celebrating safely and responsibly.
The police investigation into the stabbings and related incidents remains ongoing.
