Jewelery and watches worth about Rs 25 lakh belonging to Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s mother have been stolen. The perpetrator of this incident was a woman who was close to the actress. It is being told that the family knew the accused for many years. Mumbai Police took action and arrested the accused woman.

Raveena Tandon’s mother’s items including jewelery and watches worth around Rs 25 lakh were allegedly stolen. Police investigation revealed that the woman allegedly broke into a locker and stole gold and diamond jewellery. In this, two expensive watches of Raveena Tandon’s brother Rajiv were also allegedly stolen. A close associate of the family has been arrested by Juhu police in connection with this incident. According to police officials, the accused, identified as 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria, had been visiting the Tandon family’s house since 2020. It is said that she had gained the trust of the family by helping and taking care of the actor’s mother.

had earlier denied theft

The theft was discovered in October last year, when the family checked their safe and found it broken into and several items including gold and diamond jewelery and two expensive watches were missing. According to the complaint, when interrogated by Rajiv Tandon, Chhabria initially denied the theft, but later confessed to the crime. He returned the two stolen watches, claiming that the jewelery had been handed over to an associate named Jagdish and promised to return them. However, the officer said that despite repeated contacts, the accused woman allegedly did not return the jewellery. However, further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
