During his stint at Manchester United, Alejandro Garnacho was a fan favourite among the Old Trafford crowd and often received chants from the Stretford End during matches.
Although his performances were inconsistent, the Red Devils remained supportive, hoping the young Argentine would eventually develop the clinical edge required to become a top forward.
However, a series of disciplinary issues and an explosive outburst directed at then-manager Ruben Amorim forced INEOS to intervene during the summer transfer window.
Garnacho subsequently departed the club under strained circumstances, joining Chelsea after warning United that he would refuse to play unless his move to Stamford Bridge was sanctioned.
The London club paid £40 million for the winger, but the transfer has turned out poorly. Reports now suggest that Chelsea are prepared to offload him just a year after his arrival.
Wearing the No. 49 shirt, Garnacho managed only eight goals and four assists across all competitions, with a single goal coming in the Premier League — far from the impact expected of a player once tipped to shine at the highest level.
According to reports from AS Roma Live, the Carrington academy graduate has been offered to three Italian giants — Juventus, AC Milan, and AS Roma — as potential destinations.
All three Serie A clubs are keen to bolster their attacking options on the flanks, but none appear willing to meet Chelsea’s £40 million valuation for the 21-year-old.
“Based on the information we’ve received, the Garnacho file has been presented to Juventus, Milan, and Roma in Serie A,” the report stated.
“Each of these teams requires reinforcements in wide attacking areas, and there is interest in reviving the youngster’s career after a challenging season, provided favourable conditions can be arranged.”
“However, if Chelsea aim to recover nearly all of their initial investment, it seems unlikely that an Italian side will proceed with an offer.”
Manchester United inserted a 10% future sell-on clause in Garnacho’s transfer, ensuring that INEOS would receive a significant financial boost if a deal goes through this summer.
It marks a dramatic decline for a player once considered destined to reach the very top when he first emerged at United.
