The Panama national football team has officially announced the 26-player roster that will represent the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement was made through Panama’s official football association account on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Head coach Thomas Christiansen has retained most of the key players who successfully guided Panama through the CONCACAF qualifying rounds.

Panama returns to the world’s biggest football stage after demonstrating consistent performances throughout the qualification phase.

Los Canaleros now aim to achieve a better result than their 2018 World Cup campaign.

Thomas Christiansen has assembled a balanced squad combining experienced veterans and promising young talents to compete in Group L against England, Croatia, and Ghana.

The experience of players competing in European leagues is expected to raise Panama’s overall quality during the tournament.

In defence, Amir Murillo has drawn attention with his strong performances for Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1.

Also bolstering the backline are Jose Cordoba of Norwich City and Cesar Blackman of Slovan Bratislava.

In midfield, Panama continues to rely on the creativity of Adalberto Carrasquilla, who has impressed with Pumas UNAM.

Yoel Barcenas and Carlos Harvey are also expected to play vital roles in shaping Panama’s attacking rhythm, thanks to their ball distribution skills and pace in transitions.

In the attacking department, Ismael Diaz and Cecilio Waterman will spearhead the front line as the main strikers.

Both forwards are expected to deliver crucial goals when facing tough opponents in the group stage.

Panama will kick off their World Cup campaign against Ghana in their opening group match.

They will then face Croatia and England, two of the strongest teams in the group, posing significant challenges for Thomas Christiansen’s side.

Although not among the favourites, Panama remains optimistic about their chances of causing an upset in this tournament.
