Besides Jarrod Bowen, Liverpool Also Interested in West Ham United Forward Crysencio Summerville, Says Kopites Ronnie Von: Younger and Promising

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for West Ham United forward Crysencio Summerville following the club’s relegation.

The Reds have previously been linked with Summerville’s teammate, Jarrod Bowen, as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Ronnie Von de Carvalho, a football fan from Banjarmasin and former professional player, shared his thoughts on Liverpool’s reported interest in Summerville.

“It’s definitely the right move and makes more sense for the long term compared to pursuing Jarrod Bowen,” said the Brazilian-born Barito Putera striker.

The naturalised Indonesian citizen, who now resides in South Kalimantan, added that while Bowen has already proven himself in the Premier League, he is approaching 30 years of age.

“Meanwhile, Summerville is only 24. This age difference clearly makes him a more concrete and logical option,” Ronnie stated.

Ronnie expressed confidence that Liverpool could secure Summerville’s signature, considering his team’s relegation in the 2025/26 season.

“I believe several key players will look for new clubs after their team was relegated, including Summerville,” he said.

Ronnie further noted that Summerville’s greatest strength lies in his speed and ability to win one-on-one duels.

He described Summerville as a modern winger who isn’t afraid to cut inside from the flanks, beat defenders, and create dangerous situations with his dribbling. Such characteristics align perfectly with Liverpool’s attacking philosophy that has long defined their identity.

Ronnie believes Summerville would quickly adapt to Liverpool’s system and, alongside players like Florian Wirtz or other Liverpool forwards, could become a major threat from the wings.

Liverpool Competing for Crysencio Summerville

According to Süleyman Öztürk of Voetbal International, Crysencio Summerville’s performance has been attracting attention ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The former Leeds United and Feyenoord player has already spent time in the second tier and is not expected to remain with the Hammers.

“The kid has played plenty of games in the second division with Leeds. He was even the Player of the Year in the Championship. This season, he has proven himself further. So, he’s definitely moving to another Premier League club,” Öztürk told toSoccernews.

“It could be Arsenal. Or Liverpool. Top clubs will compete for him, and he’ll have several options to choose from.”

Summerville is now preparing to represent the Netherlands at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a brilliant run of form early in 2026, scoring in four consecutive Premier League matches.

However, his contributions were not enough to keep West Ham in the top flight, and many of their top players are now expected to move on.

Summerville joined the East London club from Leeds in 2024 after impressing for the Yorkshire side in the Championship.

He is under contract until 2029, with an option for an additional year, but it appears to be only a matter of time before the versatile forward makes another move.

Impact on Liverpool’s Squad

This potential transfer would provide Liverpool with greater squad depth.

In recent seasons, the Reds have heavily relied on a few key attackers. Summerville’s arrival would add valuable rotation options without significantly reducing the team’s attacking quality.

Moreover, given his young age, Liverpool would be investing not only for the present but also for the club’s long-term future.

In recent weeks, speculation has continued that Jarrod Bowen could also become a summer target for Liverpool.

With Mohamed Salah expected to leave the club, the 29-year-old Bowen could be seen as a ready-made replacement on the right flank of the Reds’ attack.

Bowen registered 20 goals and assists combined in the Premier League last season and may be available as West Ham face financial difficulties following their relegation to the Championship.

It remains to be seen whether sporting director Richard Hughes will make a move for the experienced English international, but another West Ham attacker—Crysencio Summerville—is clearly on Liverpool’s radar.
