UPA’s Sambhal District Court sentenced life imprisonment to Kahkshan’s wife, who was found guilty of throwing acid on her husband. The husband lost his eyesight in both the eyes due to the incident. First, attempts at poisoning and a love affair came to light. The court imposed a fine.
Be careful: In a very serious and sensational case in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, the court has given a major verdict and sentenced the wife to life imprisonment. The court of Additional District Judge Gopal convicted the accused woman Kahkshan and sentenced her to life imprisonment in the case of fatal attack on her husband with acid. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1.75 lakh on him.
The court gave this decision after a hearing that lasted for more than a year and on more than 10 dates. The case not only to domestic violence and marital dispute, but also involved serious sections like attempt to murder and inhuman attack.
Love relationship and increasing tension
This case is of March 7, 2025, when a man named Muzaffar Ali caught his wife Kahkashan in an objectionable position with her alleged lover at home. After this, disputes and tension between husband and wife increased considerably.
The very next day the situation became more frightening. It is alleged that on the same night when Muzaffar Ali was sleeping, his wife Kahkashan poured acid on his face and eyes. The victim suffered severe burns due to this attack and lost the vision in both his eyes forever.
Allegation of poisoning also, conspiracy hatched from day one
According to the Special Public Prosecutor, a day before this attack i.e. on March 6, 2025, the accused woman is also accused of trying to kill her husband by poisoning his food. However, in this incident the victim did not immediately lodge an FIR.
It also came to light in the court that the role of some other people was also revealed in this conspiracy, but mainly on the basis of conviction, Kahkashan was sentenced.
Acid attack: Inhuman and horrific incident
Victim Muzaffar Ali told the court that his face, eyes, shoulder and stomach were severely burnt during the acid attack. After the attack, they somehow ran out to save their lives, but the accused allegedly chased them.
He was immediately taken to the district hospital and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi in critical condition, where he was treated for about six months. Despite the efforts of the doctors, his eyesight could not be restored. This incident is considered to be one of the most horrific forms of domestic violence.
Details of court hearings and testimonies
The case went on for nearly a year, with a total of more than 10 hearing dates scheduled. The court found the accused guilty on the basis of the arguments of both the parties, medical reports, statements of witnesses and circumstantial evidence.
On 27 May 2025, the court had convicted Kahkashan and the final verdict was reserved, which was pronounced later.
Victim’s condition: lifelong darkness
Muzaffar Ali’s life changed completely due to acid attack. He lost the vision in both his eyes and was left with serious injuries on his body. Despite prolonged treatment, there was no improvement in his condition.
This is not only a matter of physical harm, but it also has a deep impact on mental and social life.
Defense argument: Disagreement on verdict
The accused woman’s lawyer Pinky Sharma expressed disagreement with the court’s decision and said that she does not find this punishment appropriate. He claimed that there was a delay in filing the FIR in the case and many procedural questions remain unanswered.
The defense also said they would appeal the verdict in a higher court. According to the lawyer, this case was to family dispute and personal relations, which the court looked at from a different perspective.
