Jayaram and Urvashi are all set to give the murder mystery genre quirky twist with their new film Parimala and Co.
Honestly going by the trailer that came out on Friday it looks like the movie is trying to serve a slightly humorous spin on the Drishyam style family crime thriller. And it’s written and directed by Pandiraj so you know there’s a certain rhythm to it.
Besides Jayaram and Urvashi the film also features Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy Master, Santosh Sobhan and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy in key parts.
The trailer kicks off on a very intense kind of suspenseful note with Jayaram and his family kind of acting like they’re planning something dark like a murder.
There’s this one bold and dramatic second where Jayaram says, “We can live in peace only if he rests in peace. Shall we kill him?” Sanjana Krishnamoorthy agrees right away and Urvashi looks stunned and asks if it will end up becoming a murder case.
Soon after that a news report comes out saying notorious gangster Varghese has been murdered by unidentified attackers. The police start an investigation right away and later when officers talk about the main suspects it lands in a blunt sort of way, “Parimala and family.”
The trailer flips gears fast from suspense into comedy. Even though the Parimala family is under suspicion they seem completely clueless about who really committed the crime or at least thats the impression.
As the investigation keeps going, new suspects pop up one after another like Parimala’s brother in law the daughter’s boyfriend and a few other people that are tied with the household.
