So friends, in areas where PNG is available, many households have been found to have both PNG and LPG gas at the same time, so the government has decided to introduce new rules to control it. According to the information, from June 1, 2026, consumers with PNG connections will be required to return or close their LPG connections within 30 days. If the LPG connection is not returned within this period, action may be taken to cancel the connection of the concerned customers. Due to this, there is a possibility that the supply of LPG cylinders to such customers will be stopped after July 1. LPG Gas Cylinder New Rules
According to government figures, around 6.5 lakh new PNG connections were provided across the country till March. However, it has been observed that many consumers are using LPG cylinders even after getting PNG connection. Therefore, to prevent misuse, hoarding and black market of domestic cylinders, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have started verification of such double connections.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that double fuel connections will be phased out in areas where PNG facility is available. For this, the data of PNG and LPG consumers has been collected, and action is likely to be taken against consumers who do not follow the rules. LPG Gas Cylinder New Rules
