After the retirement of former Indian cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujara, questions were being raised over the future of Indian team fast bowler Mohammed Shami, but the bowler has quashed these rumours. He said that he has no intention of retiring at present.
Mohammed Shami, who was out of Team India for the Asia Cup after the Test series against England, said that he will continue to play until his morale does not diminish. During an interview, she said, “If anyone has any problem, tell me, will their life become better if I take retirement? Tell me, in whose life have I become a stone, do you want me to retire? The day I get bored, I will leave on my own.” The fast bowler of Team India further said, “You may not like me, but I will keep working hard. If you don’t like me in international cricket, then I will play domestic cricket. I will keep playing somewhere.” The 34-year-old player said that the right time for retirement has not come yet.
Mohammed Shami said that his dream of winning the ODI World Cup is still unfulfilled. We came very close in 2023, but we could not win. I want to reach there in 2027. Regarding his fitness, Mohammed Shami said that I have worked very hard in the last two months. Especially on weight loss and long term bowling.
