Wales will host Ghana in an international friendly match at Cardiff City Stadium tonight.

The kick-off for the Wales vs Ghana clash is scheduled for 01:45 AM WIB on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

The Ghana national team, known as the Black Stars, are currently preparing for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Wales failed to qualify for the World Cup after being eliminated in the UEFA play-off semi-finals, losing on penalties to Bosnia & Herzegovina in Cardiff.

Just days after that disappointment in March, Wales drew 1-1 with Northern Ireland in another friendly match.

Jamie Donley opened the scoring for Northern Ireland before Sorba Thomas equalised for Wales just before half-time.

Following the friendly match against Ghana, Wales will take advantage of the international break to face Romania in another friendly on 6 June.

These matches are part of The Dragons’ preparation for the new UEFA Nations League campaign, which will commence later this year in September.

Wales will face Portugal, Denmark, and Norway in Group A4.

Meanwhile, Ghana are heading to the World Cup as one of the ten African nations that secured qualification for the prestigious tournament.

The Black Stars topped Group I in the CAF qualifiers to earn their ticket to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

They will aim to advance from Group L, where they will face challenges from Panama, England, and Croatia.

Their opening match will be against Panama on 18 June at BMO Field in Toronto.

Heading into this fixture, Ghana have been struggling, losing their last five games against Japan (2-0), South Korea (1-0), Austria (5-1), Germany (2-1), and Mexico (2-0).

The defeat to Mexico came just a few days ago, and they are eager to regain winning momentum before the World Cup begins.

Wales vs Ghana: Statistics and Head-to-Head

This will be the first-ever international meeting between Wales and Ghana, making it an exciting opportunity for both sides to start their head-to-head record positively.

Although the Black Stars have qualified for the World Cup and the Dragons have not, Wales currently sit 36th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Ghana, on the other hand, are ranked 74th in the world, according to the latest FIFA standings.

This will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

Wales vs Ghana Prediction

Ghana are known for their physical strength and technical ability, but they come into this match low on confidence following a string of defeats.

The Black Stars are expected to play an attacking, high-tempo game as they look to secure a morale-boosting win before heading to the World Cup.

Wales, backed by their home crowd, will be determined to prove they can compete against a World Cup-calibre opponent.

The Dragons are likely to put up a strong fight at home, and this match could end in a draw.

Predicted Score: Wales 1-1 Ghana
