Paris Saint-Germain is moving swiftly in the transfer market as they aim to build on their recent European achievements, with a deal for Russian midfielder Aleksey Batrakov now approaching completion. The young Lokomotiv Moscow talent has become the top target for the French champions, and a switch to the Parc des Princes now seems almost inevitable.
Agent confirms talks are at an advanced stage
Aleksey Batrakov’s representative, Dmitry Cheltsov, has confirmed that discussions between Lokomotiv Moscow and PSG are nearly finalised. Speaking on the Russian programme Comment Show, the agent gave an uncommonly detailed update on the ongoing negotiations involving the Ligue 1 champions.
Cheltsov explained that the move is practically done, outlining the extensive communications between the two clubs. “It’s time to declare that this transfer is 95% complete. PSG’s and Lokomotiv’s management have already spoken over ten times on the phone. This week, Luis Campos is expected to travel to Moscow to finalise the deal. At this stage, only an act of God could stop it: €25 million for the transfer fee, with a salary package of around €5 to €6 million,” the agent disclosed.
Luis Campos takes charge of the final negotiations
The involvement of sporting advisor Luis Campos underlines PSG’s determination to complete the signing quickly. His planned trip to the Russian capital suggests that only the structural details of the €25 million agreement remain before the deal becomes official.
This decisive approach follows PSG’s historic Champions League success, demonstrating the club’s continued hunger to add fresh talent. By bringing in Batrakov, PSG is maintaining its growing interest in Russian football, following the successful addition of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov earlier.
Perfect tactical fit for Luis Enrique
Batrakov is not merely a commercial signing – he suits the tactical blueprint preferred by head coach Luis Enrique. At just 20 years old, the midfielder possesses both versatility and technical skill, qualities that have defined PSG’s recruitment under the Enrique-Campos partnership.
The youngster’s record in Russia has been exceptional, proving his capability to perform at elite level. In his last season with Lokomotiv Moscow, the attacking midfielder scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 36 matches across all competitions.
Marking a new chapter in PSG’s recruitment strategy
The addition of the Russian prodigy signals a shift in PSG’s approach — moving away from established superstars towards developing high-potential young players. Batrakov’s ability to play multiple roles in the attacking third makes him a key asset for both domestic and European fixtures in the upcoming campaign.
If the final 5% of the deal proceeds as expected this week, Batrakov will become PSG’s first major signing of the summer transfer window. With a reported salary package of up to €6 million, the club is placing strong confidence in the 20-year-old to become the next creative force at the heart of the team at the Parc des Princes.
