Khajni Gorakhpur. In Khajni, Bansgaon, Kaudiram Sikriganj, Gola and Jaitpur areas of Dakshinachal, rural roads were being extensively used by heavy vehicles for years to save toll tax. Due to this, the people of the area had to face serious problems like jams, chances of accidents and damaged roads. Now, after the strictness of the Khajni Police and the special campaign conducted on the instructions of higher officials, this problem has started to be effectively controlled.

The effect of police action was that the movement of heavily loaded trucks and trailers on these routes has almost stopped.
According to local people, there was a danger of accidents every day due to high speed and overloaded vehicles operating on narrow rural roads. School children, farmers, two-wheeler drivers and pedestrians especially had to suffer. Roads were also getting damaged prematurely due to the pressure of heavy vehicles, due to which the government had to bear additional expenses on repairs.
Villagers say that complaints were being made regarding this problem for a long time, but effective action was not being taken. In recent times, there has been a significant improvement in the situation due to strict blockade and monitoring by the police.
The police administration has clarified that heavy commercial vehicles will have to use only the prescribed national and state highways and four-lane routes. Under no circumstances will rural roads be allowed to be used as a shortcut or toll saving option. Strict action will continue against vehicles violating rules.
