New Delhi. The weather is going to be active with the progress of monsoon in many parts of the country on June 1. This has been stated in the press release of India Meteorological Department. There is a possibility of isolated heavy rain over North-East India and South Peninsular India. Parts of North-West, Central and Eastern India may receive moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers. The heat wave is now almost over from the country, due to which many areas have recorded a drop in temperature.
The weather in North-East India will be mainly rainy on June 1. Light to moderate rain at isolated places with isolated heavy falls is possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour in Assam and Meghalaya. Incidents of thunder and lightning can also be recorded. This region is going to benefit the most from the advancement of monsoon.
In South India, scattered to widespread rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka and Telangana on June 1. Strong winds of 40-50 kmph (gusting to 50-70 kmph) are possible with heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. There will be thunderstorms in Coastal Karnataka and Rayalaseema also. Early monsoon activities in these states can prove beneficial for agriculture.
In eastern and central India, there will be light to moderate rain over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Also, there may be thunderstorms and winds up to 40-80 kilometers per hour. Cyclone warning (60-80 kmph) has been issued in Odisha. There is a possibility of rain, thunderstorm and hail at some places in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in North India. Strong winds of up to 70-90 kilometers per hour can be recorded in Rajasthan.
