MEDAN – The Head of the Highway Patrol Unit (PJR) of the North Sumatra Regional Police Traffic Directorate, AKBP Dhery, has expressed his support for the Portugal national team in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Portugal is the team he is most looking forward to watching throughout the tournament.
The officer, who wears two jasmine stars on his uniform, stated that the player who captures his attention the most in the Portuguese squad is Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to him, Ronaldo still possesses the quality and skill to perform at the highest level.
“I support Portugal. My main player is still Ronaldo,” said AKBP Dhery, Head of the Highway Patrol Unit of the North Sumatra Police, on Monday (1 May 2026).
Dhery mentioned that he does not follow or watch every match during the World Cup.
However, he always makes time to watch Portugal’s games.
He also remains an admirer of Lionel Messi, who represents Argentina.
“I usually just watch my favourite teams,” he added.
Despite his busy duties as the Head of the Highway Patrol Unit, Dhery admitted that football has always been his passion.
Nevertheless, he finds it difficult to play the sport regularly due to his work commitments.
To maintain his physical fitness, he continues to exercise by running.
“For sports now, I just go running,” he revealed.
