Oil marketing companies raised prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders across major cities from June 1 while keeping household cooking gas rates unchanged.
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder increased by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50. In Kolkata, the rate went up by Rs 53.50 to Rs 3,255.50.
Officials also revised the price of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders, raising it by Rs 11. The retail price of a 5-kg FTL cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 821.50. The new rates came into effect on June 1.
Domestic LPG prices used by households remain unchanged. The standard 14.2-kg cylinder continues at the same rate across cities.
Commercial LPG cylinders are primarily used by hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, and other businesses. Free Trade LPG cylinders serve consumers outside the subsidised domestic category.
The revision follows recent government directives to strengthen fuel security. Officials asked oil marketing companies to maintain a minimum 30-day LPG reserve to safeguard against supply disruptions. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed that fuel supplies remain stable.
Commercial LPG prices are revised monthly by Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, based on international benchmarks, freight costs, and foreign exchange movements. Domestic LPG prices have remained largely stable after multiple rounds of revisions over the past two years.
