Emmanuel Macron praises PSG after back-to-back Champions League triumph, says France takes pride in victory

French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on winning their second consecutive UEFA Champions League title following their victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
The closely contested final ended in a 1-1 draw, with PSG emerging victorious after a tense penalty shootout that finished 4-3 in their favour.
In a message posted on X, President Macron said that a new star now shines over Paris, expressing admiration for the team’s achievement.
He further remarked that PSG continues to make Europe dream and that the whole of France is proud of their success.
Macron is scheduled to meet the double European champions on Sunday afternoon to celebrate their remarkable triumph, just as he did following their 2025 victory.
