Andy Flower as Head Coach: Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2026 trophy. This is the second consecutive time that RCB became champion. Now the question is who is behind this success of RCB? How did a team that craved trophies for the first 17 seasons manage to win two titles back to back? The answer is its head coach Andy Flower. One thing is very famous about Flower in the circles of cricket and that is his guarantee of victory. Anywhere in the world, in any league or tournament, with any team that Andy Flower has been associated with, most of them have won. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that he is the one who will change the fortunes of RCB.

Andy Flower was associated with RCB in IPL 2024. Then he replaced Mike Hesson as the head coach of this team. IPL 2024 was Andy Flower's first season with RCB, yet he took the team to the playoffs. But, the whole world saw what happened in its next season i.e. IPL 2025. Under his coaching, Andy Flower ended the wait of RCB and its fans to win the IPL trophy. RCB became IPL champion for the first time. Now by becoming the champion of IPL 2026, she has defended her title.
How did Flower change the fortunes of RCB?
There is no doubt that its players have played a major role in RCB's back to back success on the IPL pitch. But without the work done by head coach Andy Flower by staying outside the boundary line, it was not easy for his players to win on the field. While performing the duty of head coach, Flower told the RCB players about their strengths and weaknesses. Removed their shortcomings and most importantly maintained their confidence of victory by maintaining their morale. The result of those efforts of Andy Flower is that RCB has become the third team after CSK and MI to lift the IPL trophy twice in a row.

However, Andy Flower's success in coaching is not limited to just IPL and RCB. His career has been full of achievements with all the teams in the world that he has coached. Andy Flower led England to a 2-1 Ashes series win in 2009. After that in 2010 he made England win the T20 World Cup. It was under his coaching in the Ashes 2010-11 that England defeated Australia 3-1 at home.
Flower's big name in T20 leagues around the world
As head coach, Flower not only won international cricket with the England team but also spread the magic of his coaching in leagues around the world. In 2019, he made Maratha Arabians the champion in Abu Dhabi T10. Delhi Bulls could not win in 2021-22 but definitely took it to the finals.
Andy Flower lifted the 2021 trophy with Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League i.e. PSL. He took this team to the finals in 2023. He led St. Lucia Kings to the finals of the Caribbean Premier League in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons. Made Trent Rockets champion in The Hundred in 2022. Won the trophy to Gulf Giants in the International League T20 (ILT20) in the year 2023.
The coach was expert, the players were brilliant
Andy Flower is as expert a coach as he is a brilliant cricketer. This former Zimbabwe batsman has played 63 Tests and 213 ODIs, in which overall he has scored more than 11000 international runs with the help of 16 centuries. Flower is counted among the greatest and greatest cricketers of Zimbabwe.
