Head coach of the Indonesia U-19 National Team, Nova Arianto, led a training session at Yogyakarta Independent School in Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday (May 19, 2026).

BOLASPORT.COM – If you are unable to watch the live broadcast on television, you can still follow the Indonesia U-19 National Team’s campaign in the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Championship via live streaming.

The Indonesia U-19 team will face Myanmar in their opening Group A match of the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Championship.

The match will take place at the North Sumatra Main Stadium in Deli Serdang on Monday (June 1, 2026) at 20:00 WIB.

The Indonesian squad is targeting a win to boost their confidence ahead of their remaining Group A fixtures.

A victory over Myanmar would serve as a strong motivation before facing Timor Leste and Vietnam.

Nova Arianto emphasised that his team will not underestimate Myanmar’s strength.

He pointed out that Myanmar arrive at the tournament with solid preparation.

According to Nova, most of Myanmar’s players have undergone intensive training camps in Thailand and gained valuable experience in the domestic U-21 competition.

“We still regard Myanmar as a very good team because they also held a training camp in Thailand,” said Nova Arianto during a press conference via a voice recording received by BolaSport.com on Sunday (May 31, 2026).

“I’ve heard and I believe they’ve been well prepared, including the Myanmar U-19 players who have been competing in their country’s U-21 league,” he added.

Nova Arianto wants the Indonesia U-19 National Team to aim for victory in every match of the ASEAN U-19 Championship.

He believes that consistency will be the key to lifting the trophy at the end of the tournament.

“Yes, as for my target, as I always say, my goal is to win every match,” Nova stated.

“Becoming champions is our ultimate goal, but I want the players to stay focused on each game and ensure we win every single one,” he concluded.

The Indonesia U-19 National Team enter this tournament as the defending champions.

In the previous edition held in Surabaya, Indonesia defeated Thailand in the final thanks to a decisive goal from Jens Raven.

However, Nova Arianto does not want his team to feel pressured by their defending champion status.

“Personally, of course, I want us to be the best, but I don’t want to burden the players. Once again, I just ask them to focus on winning every match,” said Nova Arianto.

“As our colleagues from Vietnam mentioned earlier, we will give 100% of what we have and see how far our abilities can take us.”

“That will serve as our evaluation material. I also hope the players won’t feel pressured by our defending champion status. From the beginning, I’ve said I prefer to focus on the process—first Myanmar, then Timor Leste, and Vietnam.”

“So, if we talk about personal targets, of course, I want to be the best and win in every match,” he added.

“Regarding the U-17 World Cup, it’s actually not my area to comment on, but in football, you never know what can happen. I’m sure the preparations have been done well.”

“We were just slightly short last time, but I believe in the future we will have the U-17 qualifiers in September, if I’m not mistaken.”

“Hopefully, we can qualify again and advance to both the Asian Cup and the World Cup,” he concluded.
