Big relief to Abdullah Azam in two passport cases

Bureau Prayagraj- SP leader Abdullah Azam has got a big relief in the famous two passport cases. The MP-MLA Sessions Court on Friday accepted their appeal and canceled the seven-year sentence awarded by the trial court. The court has also approved his bail in this case. At present will not be able to come out of jail.

This case was registered in the year 2019. City MLA Akash Saxena, while filing a report at the Civil Lines police station, had alleged that Abdullah Azam had made two different passports. After investigating the case, the police had filed the charge sheet.

The case was heard in the MP-MLA Magistrate Court. The court, while giving its verdict on December 5, 2025, had convicted Abdullah Azam. The court had sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.

A criminal appeal was filed by the defense side in the MP-MLA Sessions Court against this decision of the lower court. The prosecution had also filed an appeal demanding increase in the sentence. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court had reserved the decision.

On Friday, MP-MLA Sessions Court Judge Vijay Kumar, while delivering the verdict, stayed the order of the lower court and acquitted Abdullah Azam in this case. The court also approved his bail.

Abdullah’s advocate Nasir Sultan said that the lower court had passed an order of seven years’ imprisonment. An appeal was filed against this in the Special Judge MP-MLA Court. Now the court has accepted the appeal and canceled the decision of the lower court.

He said that every case is decided on its own unique facts and evidence. There is full confidence in the court and there is hope that justice will be provided in future also. During this period, security arrangements outside the court premises also remained tight. there, He cannot come out as he is in jail for seven years in two PAN cards.
