The Austrian national football team is set to host Tunisia at the Ernst-Happel Stadium in Vienna in an international friendly match tonight.
The Austria vs Tunisia fixture will kick off at 01:45 AM WIB on Tuesday (2 June 2026).
Both teams are preparing to travel to North America in the coming days to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Austria secured their ticket to the World Cup as hosts after winning Group H in the UEFA qualification round.
This will mark Das Team’s first World Cup appearance since 1998.
Austria’s campaign in Group J will begin on 17 June against Jordan, followed by matches against defending champions Argentina on 22 June and Algeria on 28 June.
In their last two friendlies in March, Ralf Rangnick’s men delivered strong performances, thrashing Ghana 5-1 and edging past South Korea 1-0.
Meanwhile, Tunisia qualified for the prestigious North American tournament by dominating CAF Group H, keeping clean sheets in all 10 matches and winning nine of them.
Nicknamed the Carthage Eagles, Tunisia will compete in Group F alongside Sweden, Japan, and the Netherlands, and should not be underestimated.
In March, Tunisia earned a narrow 1-0 victory over Haiti and then held World Cup co-hosts Canada to a goalless draw.
They have scheduled one final friendly against Belgium after the Austria clash, set to take place on 6 June against the Red Devils.
Austria vs Tunisia: Head-to-Head and Statistics
The two sides have met twice before, with Austria winning one match and the other ending in a draw.
Their most recent encounter occurred in 2007, which ended in a goalless stalemate.
According to the latest FIFA World Rankings, Austria currently sits 24th, while Tunisia is ranked 44th.
Tunisia has qualified for the World Cup seven times, whereas Austria has appeared in the global tournament eight times.
Austria vs Tunisia Prediction
Tunisia displayed a strong defensive setup throughout the qualifiers, and it will be difficult to break them down.
Austria’s high-intensity pressing style will be tested against the Carthage Eagles, making this a valuable preparation ahead of their respective World Cup campaigns.
Playing on home soil gives Austria an advantage, and they will be eager to deliver a positive farewell performance to their supporters before heading to North America. However, Tunisia will not make it easy for Rangnick’s side.
We predict a narrow win for Das Team.
