SIANTAR - The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Pematangsiantar Police, AKP Sandy Riz Akbar, has placed his bet on the Portugal national football team to lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
As an avid football enthusiast, Sandy has his own analysis regarding the national teams competing in the prestigious tournament held every four years.
According to Sandy, the depth of the Selecao das Quinas squad is impressive enough to seize the opportunity this year. Beyond the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, he believes that the rest of the team is performing consistently well for their respective clubs.
“They are very complete this year, from defenders and midfielders to strikers,” Sandy remarked.
He highlighted that the presence of Diogo Costa as goalkeeper, supported by a solid line of defenders such as Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Inacio, and Nuno Mendes, forms a formidable wall for Portugal’s defence.
Meanwhile, in the midfield, prominent names like Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha, Neves, and Bernardo Silva—who all play in top European leagues—are seen as capable of providing excellent support and ball distribution to the forwards.
“For the forwards, there’s Ronaldo, Pedro Neto, Conceicao, Rafael Leao, and G Ramos. That’s a terrifying combination,” Sandy added.
