Lucknow: In a significant move aimed at strengthening the state’s healthcare administration, the Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major reshuffle in the Health Department.
Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) have been transferred in over 21 districts, bringing fresh leadership to several key areas.

Among the notable transfers:
Varanasi: Dr Mukesh Kumar takes charge, overseeing healthcare in this high-priority district.
Ghaziabad: Dr Sachin Chandra Vaishya has been appointed as the new CMO.
Ambedkarnagar: Dr Pramod Kumar steps in as the district’s CMO.
Jalaun: Dr Harinandan Prasad assumes the role of Chief Medical Officer.
This large-scale administrative reshuffle is being viewed as a strategic step by the UP government to strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure and ensure better governance at the district level.
