Shivpuri. In Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri, a stray dog bit a large number of people in different areas of the city, injuring around 60 people, including a two-year-old girl. The victims, including women and children, were admitted to the district hospital and local health centers on Saturday. After receiving information that a large number of people were bitten by a dog, the city council launched a campaign and captured it.
According to eyewitnesses, a black colored stray dog targeted pedestrians in several areas of the city. The most serious incident took place in Lakshmibai Colony, where a two-year-old girl was attacked by a dog while playing outside her house. The girl’s family members said that she had serious injuries on her face. However, the local people saved the girl from the animal.
Health officials said about 60 people injured by dog bites reached the district hospital and local health centres. Everyone was immediately given anti-rabies vaccination and necessary medical treatment was provided. Ishank Dhakad, Chief Municipal Officer of Shivpuri Municipal Council, confirmed that the dog was captured.
Dhakad said that instructions have been issued to the concerned parties to increase surveillance in the affected areas and ensure the safety of the people. Meanwhile, people of Shivpuri have expressed concern about the increasing menace of stray dogs in the city and demanded a permanent solution. The administration has appealed to the citizens to remain alert and immediately report any aggressive or suspicious animal to the authorities.
