Madhuri Dixit on Devdas Song: The film ‘Devdas’ is still counted among the most memorable films of Hindi cinema. The grandeur of the film, strong acting, excellent music and emotional story earned it the status of a classic. The acting of Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit made the film special. The film’s popular song ‘Dola Re Dola’ is still included in the favorite list of the audience.
A brilliant jugalbandi of Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seen in this song. The dance, gestures and screen presence of both the actresses were highly appreciated. However, at the time of the release of the film, there was a lot of discussion about this song. During that time, rumors had surfaced that Madhuri Dixit was pregnant during the shooting of ‘Dola Re Dola’. This discussion remained among the people for many years, but the actress never reacted openly on this topic. Meanwhile, now after almost 24 years, Madhuri Dixit has broken her silence on these rumors and has clarified the situation in clear words.
question asked in interview
Recently, during an interview, Madhuri Dixit talked about many aspects to her career and film journey. During this time, he was asked about the claim of late famous choreographer Saroj Khan’s colleague Rubina Khan, which said that Madhuri was four months pregnant during the shooting of ‘Dola Re Dola’. Answering this question, the actress said in a very casual manner, “Arin was born in 2003, so do the calculations yourself.” To a large extent, this answer of Madhuri is considered sufficient to end all the rumors which were spreading for years regarding her alleged pregnancy during the shooting of this song.
The truth becomes clear from the timeline
Madhuri Dixit’s elder son Arin Nene was born on 17 March 2003. On the other hand, the film ‘Devdas’ was released in theaters on 12 July 2002. Earlier, it was also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on 23 May 2002. Looking at these dates, it becomes clear that Madhuri’s claim of being four months pregnant during the shooting of ‘Dola Re Dola’ is not factually correct. Pointing towards the same, the actress also dismissed the rumours.
I definitely felt unwell during the shooting.
However, Madhuri admitted that her health had deteriorated for some time during the shooting of ‘Devdas’. He told that his schedule was very busy at that time and due to continuous travelling, he felt tired. The actress said that at that time she was constantly moving from one place to another. Most of the shooting work was done at night, due to which it became difficult for him to get adequate rest. Due to this reason his health had deteriorated a bit. Madhuri clarified that this problem in her health was normal and it had nothing to do with any pregnancy. She said that she was only feeling tired due to extreme busyness and constant travelling.
‘Dola Re Dola’ became the identity of the film
Many songs of ‘Devdas’ became popular, but ‘Dola Re Dola’ was especially loved by the audience. In this song, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan danced together on a large scale for the first time. The presentation of both had impressed the audience and critics.
