- … then the bowlers will have silver!
- Sachin Tendulkar gives 3 unique tips to BCCI to make IPL more exciting
- Find out what is…
Indian Premier League (IPL) In the last few seasons, the batsmen have been very dominant. Now scoring 200 runs in 20 overs has become a very common thing in this tournament. No team can feel safe even after scoring more than 200 runs while batting first. As the pitches being prepared for the IPL matches are mainly batting friendly, the work of the bowlers has become very difficult. In such situations, the ‘God of Cricket’ is considered to maintain the balance of the game between the batsmen and the bowlers Sachin Tendulkar (Sachin Tendulkar) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given some important and unique advice. If BCCI accepts these suggestions IPL matches can become more exciting and interesting. Sachin Tendulkar has recommended the following 3 major changes in T20 cricket to protect the bowlers and create consistency in the match:
1. The ‘Impact Player’ rule should be abolished immediately
According to Sachin Tendulkar, the ‘Impact Player Rule’ should be completely removed from T20 cricket. Speaking at an award ceremony held in Mumbai, he said that this rule is disrupting the basic balance of the game. A T20 match is already very short (only 20 overs) and this rule allows teams to include an extra batsman in their batting line-up. This adds to the challenges faced by bowlers who are already under pressure, which is not game-wise.

2. Powerplay should be divided into two phases
Sachin made another important suggestion regarding ‘Powerplay’. Instead of taking the current traditional 6-over powerplay all at once, Sachin feels that it should be split into two separate phases. The first 4 overs should be reserved for batsmen, with only 2 fielders outside the 30-yard circle as per current rules. The entire decision of when to use the remaining 2 overs should be left to the captain of the fielding team. The captain can use these 2 overs in the middle overs or in the death overs depending on the match situation. The biggest advantage of this change will be that during these 2 overs the fielding team will be allowed to have one extra fielder outside the circle ie a total of 3 fielders. This will allow the captain to control the run rate more effectively.
3. The lead bowler should get a chance to bowl 5 overs
Currently a bowler is allowed to bowl a maximum of 4 overs in a T20 match. According to Sachin, this rule should be changed and the limit should be 5 overs. Sachin asserted that when the most important and gifted batsman of the team can bat full 20 overs, even the best bowler of the team should get an opportunity to bowl an extra over. This will improve both the thrill and quality of the match, as fans always love to see the best players clash on the field.
