Vinicius Junior and his teammates delivered a stunning performance as Brazil recorded a resounding victory. The Brazilian national team celebrated a goal fest in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2026 World Cup, defeating Panama 6-2 in an international friendly match.

The match between Brazil and Panama took place on Monday (1 June 2026) at 04:30 WIB as part of their preparation for the upcoming global tournament.

In the second half, at the 53rd minute, the score stood at 3-1. A golden opportunity arose when Endrick received a cross inside the penalty box and found space to shoot, but his attempt went wide of the right post.

Moments later, goal! Panama’s goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera made a poor clearance that went straight to Rayan (Brazil), who quickly seized the chance and scored from mid-range.

At the 60th minute, the score remained 4-1. Jose Rodriguez (Panama) found himself in a promising position and unleashed a powerful strike towards the right post, but Ederson made a superb save to deny him.

Three minutes later, in the 63rd minute, Brazil extended their lead to 5-1. Igor Thiago (Brazil) sent the ball into the bottom left corner, out of Mosquera’s reach.

In the 81st minute, Brazil struck again to make it 6-1. Lucas Paquetá delivered a precise lofted cross into the box, which Danilo (Brazil) met with a quick shot that flew into the left post, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

Panama managed to reduce the deficit in the 84th minute to 6-2, as Carlos Harvey (Panama) scored a sensational long-range rocket into the left side of the goal—a strike that will surely be replayed in football highlight shows for some time.

First Half

The match opened with an early breakthrough in the 2nd minute. Brazil took the lead 1-0 through a brilliant goal from Vinicius Junior, who received an accurate pass and fired a powerful long-range shot that went past the goalkeeper into the left corner.

Panama equalised in the 14th minute, making it 1-1 after Matheus Cunha scored an unfortunate own goal.

Brazil regained the lead in the 39th minute as Casemiro headed home from close range after receiving a perfect cross, putting the Selecao ahead 2-1.

This match was also an opportunity for Vinicius Junior to show that he is ready to take on the role long associated with Neymar.

Although it was only a friendly, the encounter at Maracana Stadium carried great importance for both teams as they fine-tuned their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.

For Brazil, it was a chance to test their squad’s readiness and build confidence during a transitional phase under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, Panama arrived eager to prove that they are no longer just a minor participant in international football.

Historically, Brazil has dominated Panama. In four previous meetings, the Selecao remain unbeaten with three wins and one draw.

However, Panama once surprised Brazil by holding them to a 1-1 draw in a 2019 friendly, showing that Los Canaleros could challenge stronger opponents.

Adding to the occasion was the venue—Maracana Stadium—one of the most iconic arenas in world football. Playing in front of tens of thousands of home fans gave Brazil a clear advantage.

As part of the World Cup warm-ups, Bolivia will face Scotland on 7 June 2026, kicking off at 01:00 WIB, broadcast live on TVRI Nasional and TVRI Sport.

On the same day, fans can also watch another major clash between Brazil and Egypt at 04:00 WIB.

Then on 8 June 2026, TVRI will air another friendly featuring Norway against Jordan starting at 03:00 WIB.
