Kolkata. Former West Bengal CM and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee’s MP nephew Abhishek Banerjee was attacked by angry people in Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas on Saturday. Police have arrested five people in connection with the attack on Abhishek Banerjee. At the same time, Dilip Ghosh, minister in the Subhendu Adhikari government of West Bengal, said that Abhishek Banerjee should not have done this. No one has the right to take law into their hands. Earlier, when Abhishek Banerjee was sent home without being admitted to Apollo and Bellevue Hospital in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee’s temper had reached the seventh sky. Mamata Banerjee had alleged that Abhishek was not admitted to hospitals due to pressure from the West Bengal government and police. Another video also came on social media. In which Mamata Banerjee was allegedly heard telling Dr. Tandon, the head of Bellevue Hospital, that you supported people so much, but now you are doing this. Mamta Banerjee reportedly also said that we will see when there is no BJP government at the Centre. There is no reaction from TMC on this video yet, but many users on social media are condemning his behaviour.
When Abhishek Banerjee was going to the house of a deceased TMC worker in Sonarpur on Sunday, a mob surrounded him and threw eggs and shoes. Apart from this, there was some stone pelting on Abhishek Banerjee. When Abhishek Banerjee reached the house of his deceased worker, a mob including a large number of women surrounded the house. The women were alleging that they were tortured because of Abhishek Banerjee. The crowd had announced that it would not allow Abhishek Banerjee to leave. Later, a large number of police and central forces personnel reached the spot and then Abhishek Banerjee was rescued and taken to Kolkata.
