With the FIFA World Cup just around the corner and set to take place on home turf, the United States Men’s National Team are ramping up their preparations for the prestigious tournament with a friendly match against Senegal on Sunday.
In that encounter, Christian Pulisic seemed to rediscover his sharpness in front of goal — and the timing couldn’t be better for the American side.
The AC Milan winger had been struggling to find the net since December 2025 in any competition, and had not scored for the national team since November 2024. However, that drought came to an end just weeks before the World Cup kicks off.
Pulisic first delivered an inch-perfect assist to Sergiño Dest, who opened the scoring with a composed finish. Later, the US captain doubled the lead himself, producing an impressive strike from a tight angle to make it 2-0.
His performance not only lifted the team’s spirits but also reminded fans why he’s often called “Captain America.”
With the World Cup looming large, supporters are now wondering if Pulisic can lead the co-hosts to glory this summer.
