The weather pattern in the country is very strange at this time. On one hand, people of North India are suffering from the scorching heat and humidity, while on the other hand, the arrival of monsoon in South India has completely changed the trend of weather. According to the latest report of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather is going to be quite mixed in many states of the country on June 1. Actually, the south-west monsoon has reached the coast of Kerala, due to which the rainfall activities have increased rapidly in the states of South India.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for different parts of the country on Monday. According to IMD Weather Update, while heavy rains will continue in the states of North-East India and South, people in the plains of North-West India may still have to face the scorching heat of the sun and heat wave.
Monsoon speed up in South India, relief in Goa-Konkan also
After entering Kerala, monsoon is now slowly progressing. The sky is expected to be cloudy in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Monday. The Meteorological Department says that there may be moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder in these states. Monsoon winds are fully active especially in Kerala and coastal Karnataka. Apart from this, there is a possibility of intermittent rain in the areas of Goa and Konkan, which will bring down the temperature and provide great relief to the people from the heat.
Danger of heavy rains and landslides in northeastern states
Talking about Northeast India, the most dangerous form of rain can be seen in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on June 1. In fact, the weather in these areas remains constantly humid due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that there may be heavy rains with strong winds and thunderstorms in many areas. There is a danger of landslides on hilly roads, while people living in low-lying areas may have to face the problem of waterlogging.
Thunderstorm and lightning alert in Bihar-Jharkhand, humidity will trouble Delhi-UP
There will be movement of clouds in the states of Eastern India i.e. Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha on Monday. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning in some districts of Bihar and Jharkhand, although due to rain here the temperature will be slightly below normal. On the other hand, people of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR do not seem to be getting any significant respite from the heat at present. Heat wave may still persist in western Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, while light drizzle is expected in parts of eastern UP and Uttarakhand.
