New Delhi. As soon as the new month starts, many rules are changing in our country, which will have a direct impact on our household budget and daily life. Many big changes are being implemented in the country from June 1, 2026. From kitchen management to digital payments through mobile phones and train travel, its impact will be visible. The government has made many major changes in petrol and diesel, so let us understand these changes in very simple language, so that your daily routine continues without any interruption and loss.

1 Strict rules for LPG and PNG
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has tightened the rules for customers having two connections (both LPG and PNG). Such customers have been given a deadline of 30 days. If you have a piped natural gas (PNG) connection in your house and it is active, then from June 1, you will have to surrender your old LPG cylinder connection within 30 days.

Connection Transfer Voucher
Oil companies (like Indane, Bharat Gas, HP) have started a special voucher system for this. Under this, if in future you shift to an area where PNG is not available, you will be able to get your LPG connection restarted. Along with this, like the first date of every month, the prices of gas cylinders will also be reviewed on June 1.

2 Digital Security: Real name will be visible on UPI payment
‘National Payments Corporation of India’ (NPCI) has taken a big step to prevent the problem of online fraud and mistaken transfer of money to someone else’s account. From June 1, whenever you send money to someone through apps like Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm, before entering the UPI PIN, the real name of that person (Legal Name) will be visible on the screen, which is registered in his bank account. This way you can be completely sure before sending the money that the money is going to the right person.

3 Banking Fees and Cash Deposit Rules
ATM Transactions: Many major banks have tightened the rules for 3 to 5 free ATM transactions every month. After exceeding this limit, you may have to pay higher charges for withdrawing money, viewing mini-statement or checking balance.

Requirement of PAN card: It is a matter of relief that the requirement of PAN card has been slightly relaxed for cash deposits up to ₹ 50,000. However, for property transactions or family gifts worth more than ₹20 lakh, a valid PAN card will remain mandatory.

4 Big relief in advance tax and income tax
Advance Tax: Taxpayers whose estimated net tax liability is more than ₹10,000 will have to pay 15% of their total tax liability as advance tax by June 15. Failure to do so will result in a penalty at the rate of 1% per month.

Benefit to employed people: Under the old tax system, the tax free limit of children’s education allowance has been increased to ₹ 3,000 per month and hostel allowance to ₹ 9,000 per month. Apart from this, big corporate hubs like Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad have now come under the ambit of 50% HRA (House Rent Allowance) tax exemption.

5 Train travel: Chennai suburban network’s timings changed
A big change is also taking place for the passengers traveling by train daily from June 1, 2026. Southern Railway has completely changed the timetable of more than 200 suburban trains running on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram-Chengalpattu rail corridor. Commuters traveling to and from office have been advised to check the latest timings on the display board or digital apps of the railway station to avoid missing their train.

6 Export duty will be reduced

In a statement issued by the government on Saturday, May 30, it was said that from June 1, the duty on export of petrol, diesel and ATF will be reduced.
