New Delhi: A major accident occurred at an illegal mining site in south-west China’s Yunnan province on Sunday morning, where at least five people died due to the sudden collapse of the mine, while another person was reported injured. Let us tell you, after the accident, there was chaos in the entire area and the rescue operation was started immediately.

According to media reports, the accident occurred at around 4:30 in the morning in Baiwu village of Huize County in Yunnan province. It is being told that during the mining work, the ground suddenly caved in, due to which many people present there got buried under the debris. However, the officials have not yet clarified what type of mineral the mine was being operated for.

According to the information, a total of six people were trapped inside at the time of the accident and as soon as the information was received, local administration, relief and rescue teams and emergency services teams reached the spot and the rescue operation was started. However, after the rescue operation that lasted for several hours, all the trapped people have been taken out and have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

It is reported that five people died during treatment in the hospital. The treatment of one injured person is going on. According to doctors, his condition is currently stable and he is being constantly monitored. After the accident, the local administration has started investigating the matter. Officials say that it is being ascertained whether safety rules were being followed in the mine or not. Along with this, it will also be investigated whether any complaint or warning was received earlier regarding the mine being operated illegally or not.
