As the 2026 World Football Festival approaches, the confirmed national squads for the World Cup include England, Scotland, Brazil, the United States, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina, Portugal, and several others. Brazil vs Panama serves as an international friendly ahead of the tournament.
The Brazil national team will host Panama in an international friendly match on Monday (1 June 2026) at 04:30 WIB.
Although a friendly, the encounter at the Maracana Stadium holds significant importance as both sides continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
For the Selecao, the match offers a vital opportunity to test the squad’s readiness while also boosting morale following a transitional period under new head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Meanwhile, Panama arrive with the determination to demonstrate that they are no longer mere participants on the global football stage.
Historically, Brazil have dominated their meetings with Panama. In four previous encounters, the Selecao have recorded three wins and one draw without a single defeat.
However, Panama did pull off a surprise by holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw in a friendly back in 2019 — a result that underlined Los Canaleros’ ability to challenge stronger opponents.
Adding to the intrigue is the setting — the Maracana, one of football’s most iconic stadiums. Playing in front of tens of thousands of home supporters is unquestionably a massive advantage for Brazil.
This match will also be a major test for Vinicius Junior, who will look to prove his readiness to take on the creative role long associated with Neymar.
Teams are required to submit their final World Cup squad lists by 2 June. Injured players may be replaced from the provisional list before the team’s opening match.
Mexico will face South Africa in the tournament opener on 11 June. The 104-match competition will conclude at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, 19 July.
Many nations have already begun announcing their squads in the build-up to this summer’s global tournament.
All 48 participating national teams must register squads of between 23 and 26 players, including three goalkeepers, no later than Tuesday, 2 June.
Only players named in the official squads are eligible to play, although they may be replaced by players from the provisional list in the event of serious injury or illness — up to 24 hours before their first World Cup match.
