Tezzbuzz Desk- The final of IPL 2026 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will take the field with the intention of winning the title for the second time. Before the match, cricket experts are keeping an eye on a technical weakness which can change the course of the match.
Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill has been in great form this season, but a small technical flaw in his batting can become a big weapon for the RCB bowlers. The gap created between Gill’s bat and pad during batting has become a cause of trouble for him many times. This weakness is especially visible on inswinging balls.
RCB’s experienced fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood may try to capitalize on this weakness. Even in Qualifier-1, Bhuvneshwar had sent Gill to the pavilion on a similar ball. In such a situation, this competition in the initial overs is considered very important in the final also.
However, Gill’s record in Ahmedabad has been excellent. He has scored more than 1500 runs in T20 cricket at this ground and both his average and strike rate are better than his career average. The advantage of domestic circumstances will give them confidence.
On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record against Gill has also been impressive. He has taken the wicket of the Gujarat captain several times in the IPL and is also in the race for the Purple Cap this season.
The presence of stars like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan in the final will make the match more exciting. Now it will be interesting to see whether Gill’s bat works in Ahmedabad or whether RCB bowlers are successful in taking advantage of his weakness and getting the team the second consecutive title.
