New Delhi. Actor Manoj Bajpayee is in the headlines these days for his upcoming film ‘Governor’, but the issue of his controversial film ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ is still in the news. Amidst the huge protest and legal dispute regarding the title of the film, Manoj Bajpayee has now for the first time explained in detail how this entire matter affected him and his family.

In fact, earlier this year, an OTT platform had announced its 2026 content lineup, which also included Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’. As soon as the name of the film was revealed, protests started on social media. Many organizations, social groups and political leaders objected to this title. Within no time the matter escalated so much that the dispute reached the court and then the Supreme Court. Later, in view of the court’s instructions and increasing opposition, the makers decided to withdraw and change the title of the film.

In a recent interview given to PTI, Manoj Bajpayee said that the film team did not expect such a big controversy at all. He said that as soon as it was realized that a large number of people were hurt by the name of the film, the makers publicly apologized within just two days. According to Manoj, if any creative work hurts people’s sentiments, then there is no harm in improving it.

He said that for a creative person, changing the title of a film is not a big deal. According to him, film producers and writers can think of many new and better names. Therefore, there was never any insistence from his side regarding the name of the film.

The most difficult aspect of the controversy, however, was when it reached a personal level. Manoj Bajpayee revealed that during this time he had to face constant online trolling, abuses and threats. Not only this, many people also started dragging his family into this controversy, due to which his family became upset and worried.

Manoj said that even when he was receiving threats, he was constantly traveling and busy with his work. He clarified that he personally did not feel any fear, but when a person’s family is targeted, the situation becomes tragic. The actor said that he feels more sympathy than anger towards such people.

He also expressed concern over the increasing trend of forming opinions on social media without complete information. Manoj says that today many people draw conclusions even before understanding a subject. He said that he is an educated and intelligent person and believes in understanding an issue deeply. But they have neither interest nor time in debating with those who form opinions without knowing the facts.
