Yameen Vikat, Thakurdwara. Dual colors of nature were seen in Thakurdwara and surrounding areas of UP on Saturday. People who have been facing the heat and humidity of the sun for the last several days have got a big relief from the sudden change in the weather. In the afternoon, dark clouds suddenly appeared in the sky and then it started raining heavily along with thunder and lightning. During this period, light hailstorm also fell in some areas, due to which a huge drop in temperature was recorded. People troubled by the scorching sun came out of their homes to enjoy this pleasant weather.
In fact, while this rain brought a message of relief for the general public, it also became a cause of trouble for the shopkeepers of Sharifnagar and the mango producing farmers of the area. There is a possibility of huge damage to mango orchards due to strong winds and hailstorm. Apart from this, sudden heavy rains also exposed the administrative claims and created serious waterlogging situation at many places.
Relief from scorching heat, brightness returned to the markets
For the last one week, Thakurdwara and the entire surrounding area was in the grip of scorching heat. Due to the strong sunlight, there was silence in the markets in the afternoon and people were forced to remain confined to their homes. But on Saturday the weather took such a turn that the atmosphere changed. After the rain, cold winds started blowing, due to which people heaved a sigh of relief. As soon as the weather became pleasant, there was suddenly an increase in activity in the markets and public places. In the evening people were seen enjoying the changed weather.
Farmers’ faces blossomed, but mango growers disappointed
According to local farmers, this rain will prove to be very beneficial for paddy seedlings and other crops. Dry fields have got new life with this water. However, the other side of the coin is that this strong storm and hailstorm has increased the concern of gardeners. It is being told that at this time the mango crop was being prepared on the trees, but due to hailstorm, the fruits have broken and fallen, due to which the gardeners may have to suffer huge financial loss.
Waterlogging in Sharifnagar: Drain water entered shops
Even though the weather was pleasant in the city, the view at the bus stand of Sharifnagar was completely different. Due to lack of proper drainage system, the very first heavy rain spoiled the situation here. According to local people, the dirty water of the drain near the bus stand overflowed and entered the shops by about a foot. Due to sudden flooding, valuables of shopkeepers got wet, due to which they had to suffer huge losses. Due to waterlogging, pedestrians and drivers also faced difficulties in traveling long distances.
At present, the Meteorological Department estimates that the movement of clouds in the sky may continue for the next one or two days. The residents of the area hope that the weather will remain the same in the coming days and they will not have to face severe humidity again.
