New Delhi: Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that a decision on an agreement with Tehran will be taken soon. Iran has clarified that no final agreement has been reached yet to end the conflict and the country is not going to take a decision under any external pressure. This information has been revealed in the report of Iranian government media Press TV.
This statement given by Tehran has raised questions on Trump’s recent claims. The Iranian Foreign Ministry says that decisions will be taken only on the basis of national interests and rights, while indirect talks are going on between the two countries through mediators.
Iran’s response to Trump’s claim
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai told state television, "Tehran has said goodbye to the language of ‘necessary’ 47 years ago. Neither side in the West can use the language of ‘urgent’ when talking about Iran. We take our own decisions based on the interests and rights of the Iranian nation."
He made it clear that no final agreement has been reached yet to end the conflict and Iran will not accept any external pressure.
What did Trump say about the agreement?
US President Donald Trump had claimed on social media that the naval blockade imposed in the Strait of Hormuz is being lifted and a decision on the agreement with Iran will be taken soon.
Trump said, "Due to our wonderful and unprecedented naval blockade, which is now being lifted, ships stranded in the Straits can begin the process of ‘returning home’! On behalf of your beloved President, say hello to your wives, husbands, parents and families!"
American maritime measures declared illegal
Ismail Bagai criticized US maritime measures, Press TV reports "illegal from the beginning" relaxed me. He alleged that these steps violated the ceasefire and international navigation principles that came into force on April 8.
Bagai said, "We have to see in practice whether they will actually act on their words or it is just a publicity claim."
He further said that withdrawing these measures would amount to ending the action which "This should not have been done from the beginning."

According to Iranian officials, Iran tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz following the conflict that began on February 28 and subsequent US actions targeting Iranian ships and ports.
Accused of violating the terms of the ceasefire
Bagai said that Tehran considers American actions against the terms of the ceasefire. He claims that some measures have been taken forward unilaterally by Washington.
He told that indirect talks are going on between Iran and America through mediators. In these talks, matters to ending hostilities, resolving maritime disputes and Iranian assets abroad are being discussed.

On the nuclear program, which is one of the most important topics of the agreement, Bagai clearly said, "We are not having any talks on the nuclear issue."
