Today's transfer whispers centre around Ibrahima Konate's failed contract discussions at Liverpool and Ruben Dias's potential decision to leave Manchester City.
Let's begin with Liverpool, where the Reds are in a tight race to secure Yan Diomande. The RB Leipzig winger has emerged as the Merseyside club’s prime candidate to succeed Mohamed Salah, with negotiations ongoing for the Ivorian star. According to reports from Sky Germany, Arne Slot's team are aware of competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, and are determined to finalise his signing quickly.
While Diomande could be on his way into Anfield, Ibrahima Konate might be heading in the opposite direction. The French defender's prolonged contract saga appears to be nearing an unhappy end. Konate has failed to reach an agreement over new terms with Liverpool and looks set to depart on a free transfer. Following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold for a minimal fee last summer, this development represents another significant setback for the Reds.
Meanwhile, another centre-back potentially on the move is Ruben Dias. The 29-year-old has reportedly instructed his representatives to explore transfer options after six seasons with Manchester City. As per Caught Offside, his availability has drawn interest from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.
Turning attention to Bernardo Silva, his departure from the Etihad now seems inevitable. The Portuguese midfielder is expected to turn down a return to Benfica, with top European clubs such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus emerging as his most probable destinations.
Continuing with Portuguese players, Joao Palhinha's situation also remains uncertain. After spending this season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur, the midfielder now faces a pivotal decision regarding his next move. Roberto De Zerbi is eager to secure Palhinha’s services permanently, but Sporting CP are looking to bring back the 30-year-old this summer, according to A Bola.
Elsewhere in London, the expected player departures at West Ham United are beginning. Niclas Fullkrug appears keen to move on, with his former club Werder Bremen expressing interest in re-signing him. The German striker spent the latter half of last season on loan at AC Milan, where he struggled to leave a notable mark.
