‘Ultraviolet Automotive’, known for manufacturing premium and high-performance electric vehicles in the Indian automobile market (Ultraviolette Automotive) A major update has come out from the company. Thousands of customers waiting for the company’s highly popular and much awaited maxi-style electric scooter ‘Ultraviolette Tesseract’ will now have to wait for a few more months. Because, the company has officially postponed the launch date of this scooter. Earlier, the scooter was slated to hit Indian roads in mid-2026, but now it has been confirmed that its launch will take place in January 2027.

What is the main reason for delaying the launch?

The question that has arisen among EV enthusiasts is, why did the company delay the launch of such a popular scooter? The company has given a very technical and customer benefit reason for this. According to UltraViolet’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Narayana Subramaniam, the company not only wants to bring a stylish looking scooter to the market, but also offers customers a powerful and never-before-seen high-performance electric machine. The platform that was initially decided for this scooter is now undergoing major changes. The scooter is now being developed on a completely new and advanced 100-volt (100V) architecture, which will drastically improve its performance.

What are the benefits of 100-volt (100V) technology?

The company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Neeraj Rajmohan explained that the new 100V platform will directly take the power and performance of the scooter to the next level. This high-volt architecture will make the scooter extremely easy to carry heavy loads. Along with this, the pickup of the car i.e. the acceleration will be extremely fast and the thermal management (heat control) of the battery will be improved tremendously. This technology will help the scooter to run continuously at high speeds without overheating, which will be highly complementary to the Indian climate.

Craze by storm in the market with over 70,000 bookings

Ever since the first glimpse of this scooter (Maxi-Scooter Concept) was revealed to the world last year, it has been taking the Auto Expo and social media by storm. Its design, which looks like a sports bike from a science-fiction movie, is a hit with young customers. Seeing this craze, the customers jumped as soon as the bookings started and so far more than 70,000 people have officially booked this scooter. Even after the news of the delay, customers are ready to wait for this scooter, as the features that will be available are going to be the best in the segment.

Fire test on Indian roads

India is considered to be the most diverse market in the world. Coping with potholes, traffic and summer temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius is a challenge for any EV. Keeping this in mind, Ultraviolet Tesseract is being thoroughly tested on Indian roads on very rough terrains and in different weather conditions. The scooter will be handed over to customers in January 2027 only after its full success in India. Although the news may be a temporary disappointment, there is no doubt that the 2027 model will be far more advanced and safer than initially thought.
