Samajwadi Party is not shying away from working in a do or die situation regarding the upcoming assembly elections. Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is claiming that officials are deployed in the organization on all the seats of the state, from booth to sector. SP had fought the last assembly elections in alliance with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), but after some time, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary broke his friendship with Akhilesh and made friends with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In such a situation, SP has been busy for a long time in preparing how to break the fort of Jat voters of RLD in Western Uttar Pradesh. Now, two days ago, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has challenged RLD by appointing two big leaders of Jat community as district presidents in Baghpat and Shamli districts to woo Jat voters.

Manoj and Surendra Singh made district heads

Akhilesh Yadav has made Manoj Chaudhary the district president of the party in Baghpat district. Manoj has a good hold in the Jat belt and apart from being a grassroots leader, he has been active in the organization. In the district assembly, Akhilesh has made Chaudhary Surendra Singh Tana the district president. Surendra Singh has held organizational positions in Tana Party. He also has influence among the voters of the area. SP is trying to give a message to Jat voters that not only RLD but also SP is well-wisher of Jats.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav believes that the party’s position will be strengthened by the Jat, Muslim and Gurjar equation in Western UP. Muslims are already inclined towards SP. In such a situation, to defeat Jayant, efforts are being made to attract voters to his side by giving posts in the organization to people to him.

RLD had won 8 seats with the alliance of SP.

In the year 2022, the RLD chief had contested 33 seats in alliance with the Samajwadi Party. The party had won Budhana, Pukraji, Meerapur, Thana Bhawan, Shamli, Siwal Khas, Chhaprauli, Sadabad assembly seats in Western UP. Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, RLD has joined BJP. RLD is preparing to contest elections in alliance with BJP in 2027. In an attempt to break the alliance of SP, BJP and RLD and win seats, it is trying to fit the caste equation.
